General purpose lithium grease

General purpose lithium grease is a kind of lithium grease, which is characterized by water resistance, mechanical stability and rust resistance, and it can meet the lubrication requirements in the temperature range of -20℃ to 120℃.

Calcium-based greases

Calcium-based grease is yellow in colour and was used in early injection moulding machines. It is a grease made from animal and vegetable oils and lime and is obtained by using water as a solvent.

The disadvantage of this grease is that it will be hydrolysed at 100°C, which means that it will melt away and lose its lubricating effect, so calcium-based grease has been replaced by lithium-based grease, which has better stability in injection moulding machines.

Extreme pressure lithium grease

Lithium extreme pressure greases, which are characterised by their ability to maintain lubricity at temperatures of up to 160°C, are difficult to use on injection moulding machines with parts that need to operate at high temperatures, high speeds and extreme pressure.

This is because general purpose lithium grease can cause grease separation and loss of lubrication in high temperature environments, so extreme pressure lithium grease is the way to go.
